Over 5,000 artists and music industry professionals will vote to select the winners
Entries will be automatically selected using an objective metric tied to data from Billboard Japan, Oricon, GfK/NIQ Japan, and other major sources. Domestic voting members will then narrow down the list to five nominees for each category. From these nominees, award winners will be determined through a rigorous selection process by both domestic and international voting members.
Voting members will consist of thousands of music industry professionals from various fields, including artists, creators, managers, recording company employees, engineers, music video directors, concert promoters, music publishers, copyright collection societies / licensing agencies, music distribution companies, dealers, distributors, music critics, writers, media, overseas music award judges, overseas creators, overseas promoters, and overseas music distribution companies.
*Please note that some categories may have different selection processes.
* *Data from Oricon and other sources will be utilized in selecting artists and creators eligible for voting.
**Briefing sessions will be held for those who are invited to become voting members.
Additionally, we are planning to establish an award category where general listeners can participate in voting to encourage wider involvement from music lovers.
