(Privacy Policy)
The Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (hereinafter referred as "Association") is committed to complying with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and guidelines regarding processing of personal data.

The Association has established the following Privacy Policy regarding personal information (or personal data) acquired by us. Through the establishment of a personal information protection system and the thorough promotion of awareness and efforts to protect personal information, we shall enhance the protection of personal information.
Management of Personal Information
The Association is committed to protecting personal information that is provided to us, and take appropriate security measures in accordance with laws, guidelines, and internal regulations to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information. The Association also educates all staff, including board members, on the proper processing of personal data in order to ensure its protection.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
  • 1) When the Association collects personal information, it shall do so by appropriate means. When the Association intends to collect personal information and requests users to provide such information directly through written documents or online, the purpose of use shall be clearly stated. However, if the purpose of use is apparent from the circumstances at the time of provision, the Association may omit to state the purpose of use.
  • 2) In the event that the Association succeeds to a business through a merger or other means and acquires personal information, we shall use such personal information only to the extent that we have obtained the consent from the user prior to the succession or to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use that have been notified or made public.
  • 3) The Association may collect or use personal information without obtaining prior consent even if such use is outside the scope of the above-mentioned purposes in the following cases:
    - When required by law.
    - When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of any users, and obtaining your consent is impractical or unfeasable.
    - When particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of healthy child development, and obtaining the user's consent is impractical or unfeasable.
    - When necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or a person entrusted by such an agency in carrying out administrative procedures prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent from the user is likely to hinder the performance of such administrative procedures.
Sharing with Third Parties

The Association shall not disclose personal information obtained from voting members to any third party without their prior consent, except in the following circumstances:

  • 1) When required by law.
  • 2) When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of any voting members, and and obtaining their consent is impractical or unfeasable.
  • 3) When particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of healthy child development, and obtaining the user's consent is impractical or unfeasable.
  • 4) When necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or a person entrusted by such an agency in carrying out administrative procedures prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent from the voting member is likely to hinder the performance of such administrative procedures.
Subcontracting of Personal Data Processing
In order to enhance user-friendly functions for stakeholders, the Association may outsource certain personal data processing activities to third-party service providers, entrusting them with the processing of personal information. In such cases, we shall select service providers that comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and shall enter into contracts and other agreements that stipulate the necessary provisions for proper management of personal information and confidentiality to prevent leakage of personal information, and implement necessary and appropriate supervision.
Procedure for Inquiries and Requests Regarding Personal Information
If you wish to request changes to your personal information (including notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or erasure), please contact the Association at the following address. When the Association receives your inquiry, we may ask you to present proof of your identity to verify your request.
